Although the game is considered a Legendary Edition, you do not need a Legendary Collector's Edition to use the Trilogy Save Editor. This editor works great with any version of the game and is very simple to use. One of the nice features of this editor is the fact that it is able to edit the files of any version of the game, which means that you can create mods for all three games.
The best part of the Trilogy Save Editor is that it is fully integrated with the Mass Effect nexus mods. You will need to download the Nexus mod and install it before using the saves that it creates. If you want to use the editor without Nexus, you can easily create your own backups and load them into the game. This will allow you to play on the cloud without using any other downloads.
